We are math superstars!
Very exciting news! Ceci and I have been asked to run a Statistics session at an upcoming WIM Math Day for grade 10 and 11 students. I mean, when you want someone to show young girls that math is cool who else would you think of but us? It's going to be fantastic!

Had a meeting last night with the newspaper crew, herein referred to as the J-crew. (Our fearless leader is Jason, get it J-crew) Anyway, we are going to have a February edition with all kinds of Valentine’s Day silliness. I am excited. We are even going to have a blind date show thing. We are accepting entries, then we publish the blurbs of the finalists: 3 boys and 3 girls. Then we have one boy and one girl who will ask them questions and then go on the date with the winner. Of course it will be a double date with our photographer following them! I will be one of the MC’s for the show, I am quite excited. I will also be writing an article on the Art of Blogging so if you have any comments and such please contact me. Also entertaining the idea of a gossip column, but I think only the J-crew would understand the column.
Also had a Women in Math dinner last night, it was rather lovely. So many people there, it was great!
Well, what else, my research is being held up by the lack of software license right now which really sucks because I wanted to get some stuff done before my supervisor jets off to England. Oh well, I think I might cancel my meeting with him next week because I think I will have nothing. Oh well, maybe I should just continue writing and give him some stuff to read instead of results.
I am going to apologize to everyone now because I am about to enter a really stressful period for the next 3-4 months. I am anxiously awaiting letters from various schools and I am freaking out. The arrival of mail has become a dreaded yet highly anticipated event. I will be going from crazy mood extremes and if you catch me in a particularly nasty mood, just ignore me and walk away..Fast. So far nothing yet…wish me luck.

Here is the update:

SUNDAY:
I went to see a Raptors game in Toronto with the lovely Mel as my date. We had a great time cheering and generally causing a ruckus! Sadly, the Raptors Grrls sucked, and did the same dance over and over. I am glad I never tried out but then again maybe they are the smart ones getting paid a lot to do nothing…hmmmm. Well the Raptors WON!! And then we all got on our happy yellow school bus and ventured back home.

MONDAY:
Nothing too exciting, some math and stuff…

TUESDAY:
For all of those who thought I was the biggest math geek, I am sad to say I have to pass the torch. Ceci thought of a brilliant math idea and I think I must give her the title. Read all about her ideas for a math badge for the girl guides in her blog. I suggested we send Mattel a proposal for Math Barbie complete with a math badge and UW sweatshirt. Would you buy it? I would!

WEDNESDAY (Today):
Really nervous, have a meeting with supervisor but have not results. Not my fault SAS is haunting me once again. I finally get an account on a supercomputer only to find the SAS license has expired. AACK!
By the way are there any hardcore Shakespeare fans out there who can help me with my homework??
