Okay, once again I have fallen off the updating bandwagon. I‘ll start with some of the pressing issues:
Lobby Day: Went well, met with Minister Smitherman, who was quite touchy and got super pissed off with one of the questions. I thought it was good for people to remember he is not an ally but rather a businessman who views healthcare as a business. Otherwise, the day was good.
Family Medicine: Amazing rotation! I had a great time! I thought that I would be scared of the diverse problems and the amount of knowledge required; instead I found it quite fun. You never knew what was waiting behind the door. There was such variety, from elderly patients with hypertension, to middle aged patients with weight concerns, to the much loved well baby/child visit. I think it appealed to my adult like ADHD. I need variety in my life to function.
I think that is why I like Urology, from cystocopy, to clinic, to the OR, its always something new. Being able to provide three different treatment modalities is what I like about it. Whatever you choose you still continue to follow them, not often the case in surgery.
