Me and the Boys in Vancouver:

First week there a bus driver tried to pick me up. I was waiting at the bus stop for another bus and he tried to convince me to come on his bus. ‘I never get to take you anywhere, just give me a chance,’ I was flattered but chose to wait for the right bus.

Last week there I go the wine store and I had to ask them a question. So I went up to the super cute and tall guy who worked there:

Z: I have a question for you

Guy: yes I am single

Z: oh that was my second question; I just wasn’t sure how to ask but thanks for making it easier for me. But back to my first question…

I really had a good time in Vancouver.... ;-)

Week Three:

I started on pediatric urology and I loved it. The residents here were also super awesome and we just had lots of fun. Clinics were good and the OR was cool. I had never done pediatric surgery so I was not familiar with the smaller instruments but they were cute. I even got to do a whole circumcision by myself! Well with my staff assisting me. It was awesome, and as far as I know he did not come back bleeding.

I met up with my favourite peasant, Trevor, who just started his residency in Vancouver this year. He seems quite happy. We just had coffee and chatted. Any good Queen should always check up on her subjects.

Anyway, this week ended with a late day on Friday. We were in the OR all day and then we had a late consult so we didn’t get out till 7pm. Missed going out for drinks with the boys from VGH, and couldn’t call my mother to wish her happy birthday as it was already so late back home.

So off I went to meet Sio and Sonny for dinner then off to the Art Gallery for a night of Haida Art and Sky dancers. Good times all around.

Saturday: Was a packed day I had to tie up all my loose ends and meet Sio for dinner and the lantern festival. It was fun but a little sad. I knew I was heading back the next day and I didn’t want to go. I wanted to see family and friends back home but I wanted to stay in beautiful Vancouver and hang out with the peeps out here at the same time.
