The Ottawa Elective Adventure begins:

Sunday: Arrive in Ottawa by train, which was surprisingly on time. My sister picked me up and drove me to my other sister’s place which is close to the hospital. As we drove there I realized I didn’t even know the number of the house…thank goodness for family. We took a quick walk to the hospital so I could learn the route and then went back to her place. We got some goodies on the way including real Arabic style shawarma, roasted potatoes, and my favourite cheese flatbread thingy.

Monday: I didn’t want to get up, and I didn’t want to go. I was scared like a schoolgirl on her first day. What if they don’t like me? What if they think I am stupid? What if they ask me questions? Grill me? Pimp me?

Well they were super nice and welcoming. They gave me a quick run down of the place and of the clinics. Oh and before I forget no call!! Some consults during the day possibly but no night call! There are only three nephrologists and they run a fairly busy clinic and dialysis unit. Currently one staff is away and the fellow does not start till next week. So for now just me and the two Dr. F’s.

Pimped: 0 times

Dictated: 2 Clinic notes (I hope I didn’t ruin them)
